František Balog is primarily a stage actor—though he also works in television and film—who has spent several years active as a director and educator. After graduating from the Secondary School of Art (a Roma conservatory) in Košice, he continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava, which he successfully completed. He is a long-standing member of the theatre company at the National Theatre in Košice. In addition, he leads the independent theatre groups Divadlo Actor and Teatro Parnokalo. The productions of Divadlo Actor encompass both the classical theatre repertoire and original monodramas. He is also actively engaged in teaching, working with youth from marginalized Roma communities, and fostering the development of Roma theatre.
